This system replaces the OEM muffler, which include the secondary catalytic converters, with a direct flow system with oversized bore.
The removal of the secondary cats allows a consistent power and sound increase, and a noticeable weight saving, especially if the “race” exhaust is chosen.
No Check Engine Light problems as the primary cats integrated in the headers are not removed and the O2 sensors read the correct values.

For a nice and satisfying sound, not too loud, we recommend the “race” muffler.

The valved exhaust is compatible with the OEM management system, to fit it the pneumatic pipes must be dethatched from the stock system and re-attached to the new one.
The sound is sportier but comfortable in closed mode, and extremely loud and aggressive in open mode.
The R8 doesn’t give the driver the full control of the valves, they always open at a certain rpm level and throttle opening, this may cause excessive loudness in some situations. We do not recommend this system for daily use, especially if it involves high speed driving on the motorway.

The power increase is basically the same for all exhaust versions.
